Castle Durrow Stairs
We had a great time shooting Ruth and Dr Ryans wedding recently. Cermony took place at Holycross Abbey which was stunning. The reception took place at Castle Durrow Co.Laois. My assistant Cait was exhausted that day from the running around. But we were delighted with the results.
Pictured above is Ruth & John on the Stairs at Castle Durrow Co.Laois. Thanks to both for all there help on the day.

Wedding Diary Page 181
This is our latest advert on page 181 of the Irish wedding Diary Magazine.
Some of the Wedding photography took place in a private residence in Charleville Co.Cork, Doneraile park, Springfort Hall and of course a field of corn.
Well done to Kay & Eamon who walked 300 meters in to a field of corn for their wedding shoot. Me and my assistant were covered in mud, Kay and Eamon however managed to keep it clean.

Wedding Fayer Killarney
•October 5, 2009 • Leave a CommentJust back from our first wedding Fayre. Yes our first!! i organised it along with another few business within the wedding sector.
We had it at Darby OGills Killarney Co.Kerry. Every one seemed really busy. We had a nice crowd and we got bookings. Bookings are great and getting our name out there is also very important. More are planned before Dec 09. O and i forgot to mention we only had one business per sector. I have been to too many wedding shows where there are confused brides going around. My Worst experience was a show with 15 stands 8 of which were photographers – I got bookings but it was embarrassing , it looked like we were desperate for business.

The magazine is put together by the great team from Wedings On Line. The site Weddings Online is a mecca for many a prospective bride in Ireland . There is a vast array of information regarding so many aspects of your wedding day.
I was asked to to be the main photographer for a shoot in Kenmare Bay Hotel. It was such a busy day but great fun. A team of make up artist’s , hair stylists all organized and coordinated by the Magazine Editor Rachel Vowels. This was the image that made the front cover

Dancing With The Bride And Groom
•February 18, 2009 • Leave a CommentFor me its always a pleasure to photograph a wedding when the bride and groom really know how to enjoy themselves. The fun and enjoyment shown by the couple usually rubs off on every body else. But of course as any photographer should know – ” dont be too pushy” .
In our case we just join in the fun
I was asked to be the photographer for Domonic & Michelle’s wedding, however Domonic is also a photographer . This of course put a little extra pressure on me and my assistant Cait, but it was a great honour to be asked by a fellow photographer to photograph there wedding. From the time the first image was taken early in the morning it was fun. There was tea and smiles all around from both families in the morning.
Then it was on to Cobh Cathedral where Cait and myself were the Cobh Photographers for the day. Wow what an amazing Cathedral – simply stunning. Its dark in there which would cause many a wedding photographer headaches but we got through it with little or no flash.
The Cirius arts center for some location shots were a must for Michelle & Domonic. As we were pretty new to Cobh , we were not aware of what was in store for us at the Cirus . Well after checking out the place we knew after a few minutes that this place was great. Ok there were no garden flowers etc but great arches and doorways to work with. I think Michelle & Domonic knew this was gonna be really nice. It was also one of the firs places we put our new lighting techniques to the test !!!! Superior results to anything we have done before , but maybe not every-ones cup of tea.
It was then back in to the cars again and on to Kinsale, The Carlton Hotel. We were now the Kinsale Photographers . The Carlton hotel is another fantastic location, however when we arrived it was cold, windy and dark so we opted out of the out exterior shots. The lobby is really terrific with some fantastic colours.
We had fun , Michelle and Domonic had fun, and the Families had fun.
Great Day had by all.
Thank you Michelle and Domonic for your kind comments on our work. We were delighted thatye loved yer images.

Wedding Photography Doneraile Park County Cork Ireland
•May 30, 2008 • 1 CommentTo carry out formal wedding photography at Doneraile park in North Cork CAN bring with it some challenges.I http://www.davidlavery.com am about to take a bridal party there this afternoon after there ceremony in Newtownshandrum.Having had a look around yesterday i discovered that a photographer would be spoilt for choice if you were a traditional wedding photographer. How ever if you are looking for interesting buildings to shoot around you may have to look elsewhere as the Main house within the park is currently being renovated and will be so for the foreseeable future.
Having said there there are some really nice locations in close proximity to each other.Eg the traditional bridge where most couples get there traditional shot. There are also some interesting trees with unusual formations that may be of interest to some.
